Game is announced, teams prepare

A client approaches the firm to complete an audit. An engagement letter is prepared outlining responsibilities.

Pre match training

Draft accounts are prepared by the accountant, service provider or in-house team.

Pre Game Buildup

Information is collected for the audit (information request schedule can be supplied) Timeline if not already discussed, is advised, AGM dates, etc...

Game on

The audit work is completed, in the best manner possible.

Injured player stops play

Audit stalls when further information is required, and can’t continue until requirement is received or explained.

Video referee oversees the game, makes decisions if needed

Audit partner over sees the audit, communicates and matters to the client, and reviews the audit work once completed.

Player substitutions

The auditor supplies a number of changes that are required to the draft accounts. Either to better represent the results of the year or to meet requirements (legal or other).

Last minute try, video referee checks frame by frame to decide

Adjusted accounts are reviewed and approved for sign off.

Game ends, final score is clear

Audit is complete, accounts can be signed by the client and returned to auditor to stamp (mark as audited) and attach the audit report.

Post match review

Management letter is issued by auditor outlining matters that should be review by management and actioned as needed.
